Hey Wit!
Here is a dirty little writing secret:
You are never going to "find" four uninterrupted hours on a Tuesday afternoon where the house is clean, your email inbox is at zero, the kids are napping, and the words flow like liquid gold.
If you’re waiting for that mystical afternoon to appear before you draft your novel . . . well, your Future Self is going to be waiting a very long time.
Heroes don’t casually stroll into their quests because they suddenly found free time on their calendar. They make a deliberate choice to cross a threshold.
Writing works the exact same way. You don’t find time; you carve out writing windows.
A writing window doesn’t have to be a four-hour marathon. In fact, marathons often lead to burnout and creative dread. What builds a novel is the repeatable micro-window: twenty focused minutes before the kids wake up, thirty minutes during lunch with headphones on, or forty-five minutes tucked into a cafe booth on a Saturday morning.
Momentum doesn’t care how big the window is. It only cares that you show up and pull back the curtains.
If you haven’t mapped out your windows for next month yet, grab your free November Story Plan worksheet. It has a dedicated section for blocking out your realistic weekly rhythm before the calendar gets chaotic:

And remember: you don’t have to do it alone. Next month in The November Story Room, we’ll be showing up together inside those very windows to keep the momentum going.
Start small. Protect the edges. Let’s make some room.
Happy writing!
